Cambria County Fair sees high turnout despite sizzling temperatures

High temperatures. High humidity. High turnout rates for the Cambria County Fair. Vendors and customers looking to stay cool this week.

The American Legion County fair is held every year here in Ebensburg. Vendors say this year the fair is different from before. They say the 2022 season had a lot of rain. Now sun with above average temperatures.

Administrators say what makes this year’s event more special is that this is the first time it hasn't rained heavily at the fair since before the pandemic. Organizers say the hot weather is pushing sales of cold drinks and frozen foods up.

They say there haven't been any heat-related medical incidents yet and advise the public to mind the high temperatures. One vendor says their drink sales have been very high today and share how you can beat the heat.

“Just stay out of the sun. If you’re feeling light headed, get lots of water. Walk slowly. Take breaks. Eat because people don’t think about eating when it’s hot out, but you have to, because that helps you stay hydrated as well. It makes you feel not dizzy.” says fair vendor, Thomasine Acosta.

The American Legion Fair will be going on until Saturday. Their webpage can be found here.
