A local group of evangelists are heading to Harrisburg this weekend for a Bible reading marathon.

For the third year in a row, the Way of Truth Ministries from Altoona will be helping to read the Bible, from front to back, on the steps of the state capitol building.

The group says lawmakers, passersby and volunteers can also participate.

The goal is for the Bible to be read continuously, from beginning to end, over the course of several days to show lawmakers their commitment to God's word.

The opening ceremony is Saturday at 2 p.m., with the event scheduled to wrap up Wednesday morning.
