OA is smitten! The upcoming third episode of FBI Season 6 will introduce a new love interest for Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan. Who is Gemma Brooks? Keep reading to learn more about OA’s girlfriend and the actress who plays her.

FBI is CBS’ fictional crime drama that follows special agents at the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. The elite team investigates the most dangerous criminal cases, including terrorism, organized crime and counterintelligence. The series was created by Dick Wolf and premiered in 2018. It has spawned two spin-offs: FBI: Most Wanted and FBI: International.

Zeeko Zaki has starred on the show as Special Agent Omar Adom “OA” Zidan since Season 1. OA is a West Point graduate and army veteran. He is also a practicing muslim and of Egyptian heritage. So far, OA has had one other girlfriend on the show: federal prosecutor Mona Nazari (Yasmine Aker). However, their two jobs constantly overlapped and caused tension, leading to their breakup in Season 4. Despite the close relationship OA and his partner Maggie Bell (Missy Peregrym) have, the pair have never taken things to the next level.

Fans are excited to see OA falling for someone again, but we also have some concerns and so does some members of his team. Keep reading to learn more about Gemma Brooks, OA’s new girlfriend.

Who is Gemma Brooks on FBI?

OA, Gemma Brooks

Who is Gemma Brooks on FBI? Gemma Brooks is OA’s new girlfriend and she’ll be making her FBI debut in the upcoming episode “Stay in Your Lane.” In a sneak peek obtained by TV Insider, OA and Gemma share a sweet, PDA-filled moment together on the street. Maggie then walks up and looks surprised to see her partner kissing someone. After Gemma goes her separate way, Maggie teases OA for the way he waved goodbye to her, to which he responds: “She makes me happy.” Maggie asks how long they’ve been seeing each other and OA answers, “Three weeks, and we’re dating.” Shocked by how serious their relationship already is, Maggie says: “Oh wow, you really like her.”

OA goes on to say that Gemma is “different” and that he’s “never met anyone like her.” He explains that she grew up on the Upper East Side of New York City, with penthouses and private school, but notes that she is “down to earth, fun.” He laments that she’s “probably too good to be true,” and Maggie says she probably is.

Turns out, that might actually be the case with Gemma. The official synopsis for the episode reads: “When a local club owner is found dead, the team works quickly to find the motive behind the murder of a seemingly innocent man. Meanwhile, OA is smitten with a new love interest but is concerned that she’s mixed up with the wrong crowd.” OA is also not the only one worried about his relationship. Ahead of the Season 6 premiere, Peregrym told TV Insider that “Maggie has some concerns” about OA’s new romance.

While fans are still holding out hope for OA and Maggie to get together, Peregrym noted that Maggie’s concerns are not born out of jealousy. “It’s not because I want to be with him. It’s because I care about him. And if he can’t see that, what can I do? He has to know that I’m the greatest partner ever. If he’s going to give me a hard time about caring about him…” she said.

Comfort Clinton, who portrays Gemma, is joining the cast as a recurring role, so it is unclear if Gemma and OA’s relationship will go the distance. OA is clearly going to struggle with balancing his personal life with his work, which could cause a riff in their budding romance.

If their relationship does work out, Clinton definitely has the résumé to join the crime procedural in a more permanent capacity. The actress has had recurring and guest roles on Law & Order: SVU, Billions, White House Plumbers, Elementary and The Good Fight, among others.

FBI airs on CBS on Tuesdays at 7/8c and streams on Paramount+.
