Members of a Jefferson County sportsman club are asking for help after they say 8,000 fish from their nursery were killed by flooding that washed through Thursday night.

The Heath Township Sportsman Club is now asking the community to help dispose of the fish.

Volunteers are told to gather their buckets, shovels and gloves and to meet at the raceway off of State Route 949 at noon Saturday.

That’s about 3 miles north of the Farmer’s Inn Restaurant in Sigel.

Members say that the fish lost were fingerlings and the bigger fish survived.
