Man accused of driving into 2 buildings in Altoona facing charges

ALTOONA - A man accused of driving his pickup truck into an Altoona business and a mobile home is now facing charges.

According to police, Thomas Shaheen, 48, has been charged with DUI and several other offenses from the July 14 wreck on Pleasant Valley Boulevard.

Police said Shaheen drove his F-150 into the corner of the Leer building owned by Mattas Motorsports around 2 a.m. The wreck caused a gas line to break.

Police said the truck continued on Pleasant Valley Boulevard before striking a mobile home, breaking a sewer line.

Shaheen was taken to the hospital following the wreck.
