York County, PA — The Springettsbury Township Police Department says it was notified that Maria McKenzie was apprehended by the Philadelphia Police Department.

According to police, she was taken into custody just after 5 on Friday evening.

27-year-old Maria McKenzie allegedly hopped in a running car and took off with two-year-old Mya Campbell in the back on Sunday, June 11 .

The 2-year-old was found safe a few hours later in Philadelphia, along with the car. Since the incident, Mya has been reunited with family and is said to be in good spirits and good condition.

Police say McKenzie is currently incarcerated in Philadelphia until arrangements can be made to have her extradited to York County.
