Teen whose ATV burst into flames while plowing snow gets new quad, plow from community

You may remember back in January when a local middle schooler's ATV burst into flames while he was plowing snow for area residents.

The community decided to pitch in and get him a brand-new quad.

Well, after weeks of fundraising, the grand reveal finally happened Thursday afternoon at Cernic's Cycle World in Johnstown.

14-year-old Cohen Stahl is an 8th grader at Conemaugh Township Middle School.

He spent most of January shoveling driveways, clearing out mailboxes, and plowing around fire hydrants for community members.

His ATV caught fire -- while he was completing the generous deed -- and was destroyed by the flames.

Jason Keller, the owner of Cernic's Cycle World, started a GoFundMe when he heard about Cohen's story.

The community ended up raising $11,095 on GoFundMe to help make it possible.

Cohen got a new 2021 Can-Am Outlander BPR 450 -- loaded with factory accessories -- and a plow package with a plow, plow angle, and winch.

"I feel pretty good. I'm glad that Can-Am came out and helped me with getting the quad, and all the donors helping me with getting the new quad, so I can go do my usual stuff like plowing," Cohen told 6 News.
