“Never leave anyone alone in your dressing room,” Instagrammed John McCook over the weekend. How come? Seizing the opportunity to show us her dad’s home away from home at Bold & Beautiful, his daughter Molly took his followers on a tour of his leading man cave. (Watch it below.)

This, in and of itself, isn’t so remarkable, right? And, in fact, the Last Man Standing actress does a swell job of zeroing in on the memorabilia with which her pop has decorated his walls. But, considering that every day on the soap, more characters are learning that his OG character Eric Forrester is dying, the timing of the walk down Memory Lane is… worrisome.

A number of fans took the retrospective as another sign that, believe it or not, Eric will soon be meeting his maker and his portrayer, retiring. “I can’t imagine the show without him,” replied lkrenz. “I hope the storyline doesn’t take him away.”

“It wouldn’t be Bold & Beautiful without Eric,” added reemseey.

Yet the signs are piling up that the show may have to go on without him. Even more concerning than Molly McCook’s video — one last look before Dad clears out his dressing room? — are executive producer Casey Kasprzyk’s comments in October. He said that the cast and crew were “filming 10 shows this week… and let’s just say it’s going to be emotional for everyone.”

Accompanying his post was the hashtag “Eric Forrester” and a photo that sent a chill down our spines, of the mantle over which Eric’s portrait hangs in the Forrester mansion — except his portrait isn’t hanging, it’s leaning against the wall, set on top of the fireplace, and in front of it is a floral arrangement that could definitely pass as… funereal.
